Season One

·
The “Diva” concept came up as a idea to be submitted to HDnet for original programming. Unfortunately, it missed the demo they were looking for, but it was E.Nigma’s most popular script.
·
The main character Tanice is a combination of popular artists such as Brittney Spears, Beyonce, and Whitney Houston. Mainly designed after Brittney, she takes the family traits of Beyonce, and later in the series, she develops a diva attitude like Whitney.
·
Although Ciara is the representative for “Tanice”, writer E.Nigma is really not that big of a fan of hers. She just fit the look and the age he was looking for.
·
The Nine Mill conflict is loosely based on the West Coast/East Coast battle between 2Pac and Notorious B.I.G.
·
William (Tanice’s Father) is based off of two famous fathers. The controlling side is a representation of Joe Jackson (Michael Jackson Father) while the managing side is based loosely on Beyonce’s father.
·
The “Skiles” last name comes from ex NBA player and current coach Scott Skiles.
·
Aleshia Allen’s was chosen as the representative of “Danielle” (Tanice’s little sister) because she was the only one who fit the age requirements.
·
Kyla Pratt was first considered for the representative of Danielle, until it was revealed that she is about the same age as Ciara. She was later chosen to represent “Melita” (Tanice’s best friend).
·
The show “Turning Legal” that Tanice is signed to work on is an adaptation of MTV’s “Sweet 16”.
·
The scene in Episode 10 where Melita tickles Tanice’s foot to show America that Tanice is ticklish is based on the “Making of the video Thriller” documentary where the video’s director shows the world that Michael Jackson is ticklish by tickling his foot.
·
The second shooting in the club incident is loosely based on the night club incident involving Sean Combs and Jennifer Lopez.
·
Nine Mill representing the East Coast, although he used to live in the West Coast, was based on 2pac’s life where he actually spent his early years on the East Coast before moving, and later representing, the West Coast.
·
The Title for episode 10 “Auf Wiedersehen ,adiós ,au revoir, arrivederci, Tot ziens” is actually “Goodbye” in German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Dutch.
·
50 Cent was E.Nigma’s first choice to represent “Nine Mill” (Tanice’s Love interest), but was dropped because of the rumored relationship between 50 Cent and Ciara. He eventually settled on Ludacris as Nine Mills representative.
·
Tanice’s transformation into a sexy diva was loosely based on Brittney's move from the Micky Mouse Club image, to the image she now has today.
·
Rihanna was considered for the representation of “Tanice”.
·
Teela (Tanice’s Agent) was originally written after Ari (From Entourage) but was later decided to make her a little less aggressive and more like a big sister.
·

Season 2
·
Each Episode is named after an actual song. The song signifies either something going on, or a characters emotional state. Basically it’s a mini spoiler.
·

The characters are Sharice and Bull (The Afflicted), Cassie, Karla, and Christine (Office Romance), Monica and Wade (Redeemer), Serena (Illustrious Solitude), Chris and Tracy (Devoted Reality.) Shayera, Samantha, and Terri (Lessons Learned), Karl, Lance, Jody, Brianna, and Sam (13), and Kera (Tired).

·
Time Line - The meeting with Cassie, Karla, and Christine is after a year  of the Office Romance story line.

The singer Jazmine Hilson that Tanice encountrs is based on the two singers Jazmine Sullivan and Kerri Hilson.
·
William rant about  “I'm here bustin' my ass while she's in there going da dah dah da” was derived from the Christian Bale rant on the Terminator set.
·
The toast Tanice gives Melita at her wedding was actually taken from www.freeweddingtoasts.net.
·
The sentence Nine Mill got was the exact same sentence Shyne got for his club shooting with Puffy.
·
The sentence Tanice received for perjury is the same sentence Lil Kim got for the same offence.

Season 3
·
Tanice was released after 8 months of  prison which is the exact time frame Lil Kim spent during her prison stint for similar charges.
·
The line Andre says about “Just trying to be sociable” when he tries to converse with Tanice is the same line a drug dealer on “The Wire” tells an out of place buyer who tries to make small talk with her.
·
Tanice tells Marla the first thing she’s gonna do when she gets out is getting something to eat. She mentions Taco Bell sounds good, which is the first thing Paris Hilton ate when she was released from her brief prison stint.
·
Writer Trademark - Sixty four eighty. The address Andre tells Tanice to meet him at was sixty four eighty  Lynwood.
·
Writer Trademark - The slight tickle of Tanice’s foot that Marla gives her before inserting a needle between her toes.

DIVA Tidbits
After a recent screening of my work, I found myself reading through the entire Diva series. Although I saw a lot of typos, I think the series is written pretty well. The popularity of Tanice and the Diva series even surprises me.
